ADT is supporting high school leaners in a public, fee-paying schools. High school is an important time in the student’s life as it paves the way for tertiary education. The bursaries are awarded based on financial needs of the students, taking account of their academic and leadership performance.
Tertiary Education
The ADT bursary provides an opportunity for partial funding for tertiary education to learners based in Hermanus.
This bursary covers an additional living expenses stipend that is not covered by the NSFAS stipend. This bursary is provided on the basis that the learner has a NSFAS grant and is further assessed case-by-case.
All bursaries are awarded on an academic basis as well as financial need. Candidates who meet the shortlisted requirements will be interviewed and the administrator of the trust will consider any additional factors before making recommendations to the Board.
Our Mandate
The majority of Abagold employees comes from Zwelihle, Mt Pleasant and Hawston where they live and raise their children. The founders off Abagold decided to support these local communities in the area of education and people living with disability.
Abagold Development Trust (ADT) was established in 2010, the purpose of the trust is to create and improve educational opportunities for children in the greater Hermanus. Abagold Development Trust funding mandate is on education, including Early Childhood Development, High School, and Tertiary Education. The determination of beneficiaries and approval of grants is in the sole discretion of the Trustees. Beneficiaries are identified and approved on an annual basis. The funding will be allocated to both individuals and NPOs.
